2 What are the requirements to foster?
To become a foster parent with Delta Family Services, you must:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have verifiable income to meet your household needs
- Pass state and tederal background checks
- Complete required training and a home study
3 What can disqualify me from fostering?
- You may be disqualified from fostering if you:
- Are under the age of 21
- Live in Section 8 housing (due to foster care
licensing requirements) - Do not have verifiable income to support your
household - Have a criminal history that includes violent
offenses, child abuse, or other disqualifying
charges - Fail to meet home safety and licensing standards
4 Can I choose the age or gender of the child I foster?
