Delta Medical Supports Coordinator Named Finalist

We’re thrilled to announce that Delta’s own Gloria Lynne Smith, RN-BC, BSN, NLC and New Jersey Medical Supports Coordinator, has been named a finalist for the 2025 New Jersey Social Innovation Awards!

Selected from more than 120 statewide nominations, Gloria is one of just 43 finalists — recognized for her visionary leadership in the Innovations in Health and Human Services: Community Health and Well-Being category.

A certified gerontologist and cannabis nurse, Gloria is pioneering change at the intersection of cannabis medicine and care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Through her work at Delta, she has led efforts to educate, advocate, and implement medical cannabis as a care option for individuals with I/DD — transforming traditional models of support and improving quality of life for a historically underserved population. Her expertise is regularly sought at conferences across New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and her leadership is helping Delta build one of the first medical cannabis programs of its kind.

The New Jersey Social Innovation Awards honors changemakers, disruptors, and visionaries whose work often goes unrecognized — yet makes a lasting impact on building stronger, more inclusive communities. This year’s theme, Achieving a More Just Society, celebrates those reimagining how we address community challenges to create a more equitable future.
