Remembering the Legacy of Rus Wetherill

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart I announce the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Rus Wetherill. Rus has been an integral part of our Delta family for 17 remarkable years, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and the IT department.

Rus’s dedication to his craft and his unwavering commitment to our organization were evident in everything he did. As a devoted member of the IT department, Rus was a true technology wizard, always pushing boundaries and exploring new ideas to enhance our agency’s IT experience. His innovative spirit and passion for progress were truly inspiring.

Beyond his professional achievements, Rus’s most cherished roles were those of a loving husband to Donna and a dedicated father to his son, Matthew. Matthew, who brought boundless joy and purpose to Rus’s life, had special needs that fueled Rus’s determination to make a difference. Rus dedicated his life to supporting individuals with disabilities, embodying empathy and compassion in all his actions.

Rus was a humble soul who shunned the spotlight, preferring to work tirelessly behind the scenes. Countless late nights and weekends were spent ensuring that every Delta upgrade and helpdesk requirement was met flawlessly. His dedication knew no bounds, and his contributions were a testament to his character and devotion.

Rus wasn’t just a colleague; he was a confidant, a mentor, and a cherished friend to many. His warm smile, kind heart, and willingness to help will forever remain in our memories. The void left by his passing will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rus’s memorial service will take place on Monday, August 21, 2023 at William and Lombardo Funeral Home, 33 W. Baltimore Pike Clifton Heights, Pa 19018. Visitation starts at 10:00 AM, followed by his service at 11:00 am.
